Counting the days of the "Omer"
Nursery 1 was introduced to counting Omer (days from Pesach until the Shavuos holiday). We learned that Hashem gave us the Torah on Shavuos. Our friends have also discovered that the Torah was given on a little mountain called "Har Sinai". Hashem made Har Sinai bloom with flowers to make it beautiful. Our friends created our own mini virtual Har Sinai by planting flowers and stacking them up on a stand.

| Hashem gave us the Torah. The Torah teaches us many wonderful things, such as caring for our friends, doing special Mitzvot and helping others! |

Israel Day
Nursery 1 celebrated Israel Day with many fun activities. We read "Good Night Israel", saw pictures of Morah Sarah's trip to Israel, made Israeli salad and decorated Israeli themed pictures. We also spoke about the people who live there (mostly Jews), and some things we know happened there (such as the story of Chanukah)

Letter "Mem"
This past week, our friends learned all about the Hebrew letter Mem. Mem makes a MMM sound just like EM. We know that Mem starts for Menorah, Mezuzah, Mordechai (Mark) Miriam (Mariella) and Miriam Rivkah (Manya). We traced our letter Mem with marshmallows...
