Nursery 1 learned the letter D this week! The letter D is made of a long straight line and one curved line. The D makes a "ddd" sound, like in the word "Duck", "Drum", "Dovid" and "Dog".

Literacy Month/ Parent reading

This month is Literacy Month.  Our class is discovering the wonderful world of books! We learned that all books tell us something. Some books tell us about stories. Some books have pictures.  Mariella's Dad visited our class last week and read to us "The Little Engine That Could". Thank you Gena!

Israel Show and Tell

Israel is a special country. Many Jews live in Israel. There are also many fruits and interesting trees that grow there.

Mariella shows her friends a good luck charm that came all the way from Israel!

Leah showed her friends special spices that smell nice. These spices, or "Besomim" came all the way from the land of Israel!

 Tu' Bishvat

Tu' Bishvat is a special day for the trees. On this day, the trees start to wake up inside and get ready for the spring. We looked at a tree branch, and noticed that it had already grown buds.

Our class visited the pizza shop. Many neighborhoods and communities have pizza shops. At the pizza shop, our friends got to make their own pizza and then eat it for lunch! YUM!

Letter F

Our Nursery 1 friends learned the letter F this week! F is for Fireman, Fire and Fish. F makes a blowing sound with our lips closed. The letter F has 3 straight lines.

Fire station (My community, cont.)

This past week, our class learned all about the Fire Station and Fire men.  We know that Fire men are here to help us in 1) Putting out Fire, and 2)Keeping us safe and helping us in an EMERGENCY.

We read books about fire safety and Fire men. We also got to dress up like a fire man. Nursery 1 went on a trip to the local Fire station. Nursery 1 also learned a fire man song.
