The Beginning of Our Second Week of School
We started off our second week with a colorful activity of RED play dough! Our Nursery friends enjoyed shaping, rolling and squishing the play dough. We learned that many things that we use everyday are RED. Some children observed that some apples are RED.
We learned that apples are eaten with honey on Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year) because we want a sweet new year! Each child got to taste apples dipped in honey. We discovered that honey is SWEET and also very STICKY. The children noticed that honey is YELLOW.
After our delicious apple experience, we traced our fingers over the SMOOTH apple and felt its round shape. We got to dip an apple in RED paint and stamp the apple shape onto our Rosh Hashana cards!
